Our Philosophy

Our Approach to Nurturing, Learning, & Care

“We believe that childcare should be an extension of home.“

At Harvest Learning Center, we believe children can learn, grow, and become anything when they feel loved, safe, and supported. From the moment families walk through our doors, they are greeted with warmth, care, and a sense of belonging. Our childcare philosophy is rooted in creating an environment that feels like an extension of home, where children and parents experience comfort, trust, and genuine connection.

Our educated and highly qualified teachers, combined with a consistently low staff turnover rate, allow children to form strong, lasting bonds with their caregivers. These relationships help build confidence, emotional security, and self esteem. We pair nurturing care with engaging, age appropriate learning experiences that encourage every child to develop and flourish at their own pace.

Mission Statement

Harvest Learning Center is committed to enriching our community by nurturing the mind, body, and spirit of every child we serve. In partnership with families and the surrounding community, we work to support the development of compassionate, confident, and morally grounded children who are prepared to thrive in the world around them.

  • Provide a high-quality childcare and preschool experience that supports early learning and development

  • Offer convenient and reliable daycare options that support working families

  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of every child in our care

  • Strengthen family life through open communication and meaningful partnerships with parents

  • Create a stimulating learning environment guided by well-trained and qualified educators

Curriculum

Our curriculum is student driven and hands on, encouraging children to learn through touching, exploring, listening, and experiencing the world around them. We believe children learn best when they are actively involved in the process.

Guided by the philosophy, “Tell me and I’ll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I’ll understand,” our classrooms come alive through meaningful activities. Toddlers explore science through sensory projects like lava lamps and texture play. Infants build curiosity through safe, hands on exploration. Preschoolers participate in creative learning experiences such as reenacting historical moments or measuring ingredients while baking together.

Community Involvement

Community service is an important part of learning at Harvest Learning Center. Teaching children responsibility, empathy, and compassion helps build strong character and lifelong values.

Our students regularly visit assisted living communities and neighbors in the surrounding area to share joy and meaningful connections. Harvest Learning Center has raised thousands of dollars for organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Leukemia Lymphoma Society through events including bike-a-thons and community marches. We also support Art for Hospice by donating funds and student artwork to brighten the lives of seniors in nursing homes.
